Obituary of Phillips, Donald George
The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside , P.E.I. on Tuesday , September 11th , 2012 of Donald George Phillips of Arlington, P.E.I. aged 62 years. Donald was born in Summerside, P.E.I. on June 20th , 1950. He was predeceased by his parents George and Nina ( nee Ramsay ) Phillips , his sister Linda Phillips and his brother Lyman Phillips.
Beloved husband of Kay ( nee Waite ) Phillips and loving father of Lynne Beck ( Anthony ) of Hay River, N.W.T. , Sheri Phillips-Irwin ( Luke ) of Summerside and Julie MacDonald ( Martin ) of Malpeque. Always remembered as - Much Loved Papa - to his grandchildren Brenna, Chayce, Carter and Travis and his step-grandson Nathan. Donald will also be missed by dear aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Survived by his brother Blaine ( Joyce ) of N.B. and his sister Eleanor ( Nick ) Senick of ON..
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside , until Saturday, September 15th, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place at Lot # 14 United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. . Memorial donations in Donald's memory to an Annual Achievement Award for a student of the Three Oaks High School Welding Program would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
