Obituary of MacFarlane, Nancy Heather
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, N.S. on Saturday, November 17th , 2012 of Nancy Heather MacFarlane ( nee MacRae ) of Summerside and formerly of Belmont Lot 16, P.E.I., aged 64 years. Heather was born on August 16th , 1948 in Summerside , P.E.I. to her late parents Parker and Yvonne ( nee DesRoches ) MacRae.
Beloved wife of the late Fred MacFarlane and loving mother of Cory of Trenton, ON. and Vanessa of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her Aunt Janet Murphy of Seaview , her special friends Edith and Winston Yeo of Belmont Lot 16, and other aunts and cousins.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, November 24th , then to the Summerside Presbyterian Church, 130 Victoria Road, Summerside for a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetey, Summerside. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Heather's memory to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, Halifax would be greatly appreciated.
Members of Regent Chapter #52, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
