Obituary of Burt, Donald Edwin
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Monday, April 1st , 2013 of Donald Edwin Burt of Summerside and formerly of Kensington, P.E.I., aged 79 years. Don was born on May 5th , 1933 in Seaview, P.E.I. to his late parents, Samuel and Annie Burt.
Beloved husband of the late Elaine ( nee Watson ) Burt. Don will be sadly missed by his special friend Betty of Summerside. Loving father of Cheryl Burt ( Kevin Gabriel ) of Summerside, Arthur ( Cindy McRae ) of Kensington, Tracey Arsenault, Sterling ( Kim ), Marge ( Ron ) Arsenault all of Summerside, Jackie ( Debbie ) Burt of Charlottetown , Donnie ( Martina) Burt of Moncton, N.B. and Ralph Burt of Charlottetown and step-father of Kathy, Terry and John. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: June Dunning, Helen MacDonald, Elmer ( Rona ), Lillian ( Clayton ) Warren and Enid Chappell ; his brother-in-law Weldon Crossman and sister-in-law Jean Burt. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Don was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Norma Crossman, Ruth Folland, Colin, Ralph, Edythe and Charles Burt, his sister-in-law Marjorie Burt and brothers-in-law Francis Dunning, Frederick Folland, Sterling Chappell and Ronald MacDonald.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, April 5th , for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations in Don's memory to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, Unit 1 or to Prince County Homecare would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday afternoon, 4 - 8 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
